THEO’S STORY

Theo came into Rescue approximately 4 years ago at the age of 3, we were told that he suffered badly from colitis and had previously needed a lot of steroid injections.  His owners were just not able to provide what he needed and so they signed him over to SSTR for rehoming.  Theo does not like small children and his foster mum is very careful with him around children and is mindful of his worries.

With regard to his Colitis, we discussed his problems with our vet and eventually after trying several different brands we found a dry food he seemed to like that suited his sensitive tummy.   Since changing his diet Theo has only had 3 episodes of colitis in the 4 years he has been with his foster mum and these have been when he was in a stressful situation.   We think that the change of environment has probably been the biggest impact on his health and well-being.

Theo is a very sensitive soul who really needs a very calm quiet home, which is exactly what he has with his foster mum.  He still doesn’t like little people and is not keen on sharing his foster mum when other foster dogs come to visit as he finds them too unpredictable!  At home he is a very affectionate boy and is well behaved and very obedient on walks he sticks like glue to his foster mum.
